I have a Dell Venue 11 Pro tablet with Intel i5, 6GB ram and 128GB SSD however it moves very slowly and freezes alot when using with SambaPOS. I would have though it could perform well but obviously not.
Do any of you have any ideas on a tablet that can xope well with SambaPOS?
Im interested in a tablet because I despise loose cables and looking for something tidy. Also because I need something with bluetooth because my printer is bluetooth.
I used a surface pro 6 for a year or so. I ran SQL and SambaPOS on it as power it not that reliable here so I wanted an all-in-one solution with a battery.
The only issue I ran into was a lag from time to time entering an entity/table/tab. I think this was because everything was running on one machine and it’s typically 30º+ so I’m sure that slowed it down, too.
I’ve been looking at the Surface Go w/4GB RAM for the future just to run SambaPOS and remotely connect to the DB. I feel it should be sufficient.
Amazon is rather lacking in affordable Windows tablets.
I erased everything down to the OS and started again with the tablet and set it up exactly how it was meant to in the kb.sambapos.com guidelines using SQL servers and what not. If that was what you meant
That type of report on entity screen does get slower with time as database increases from my experiance.
Its querying whole datatabase ticket spooking for all tickets for that entity and then excluding the paid ones. And it does all that again and again for each entity.
Have you checked the power settings for your tablet. We had a client constantly complaining about a partnertech tablet which was only a j1900 to have lagging issues. Turned out it was his power settings were set to shut down his touch for the display when it was left idle for a bit creating a lag effect.
