Add an Order Tag - think im doing something wrong

im setting up a miscellaneous/custom item but having trouble assigning a description to the order line.

I have a Misc Item product set up and when this item is added to the ticket a keypad automatically appears to enter the price, this works perfect.

I now wanted to be able to add a description so i used the Tag Order action as below, so when my misc item is added to the ticket i can enter the price AND a description. The problem i have is that the order tag isnt being added to the order line.

I have also just tried a simple auto command button setup and rule with this action below so i can select the item after price has been updated then type the description, but still the tag does not add to the order

What am i missing.doing wrong?

Try defining the base Order Tag Group in Tickets > Order Tags. No mapping required. No Sub-Tags required.

I have tried to do this before with no success too. I have to create an order tag and I change order tag note instead of order tag value. So, create order tag like “Order Detail” and Action Tag Order put Tag Value as Order Detail and use Order Note as variable

It seem like we cant create free tagging with automation command. I can manually add free tag by typing in to boc and click + but not with automation.

You can not set a free tag via automation yet. Now what you can do however is use an order state specifically for misc description. Although I am not sure that would be a good idea.
