Adding a terminal in Sambapos

Hi guys, I just wanted to know if I have the right understanding. So I’ve done a server setup, Sambapos, SQL as per the guide and it is working when I connect another computer i.e a terminal.

However I see in Sambapos settings there is a section that says terminal. Is this just another way of adding a terminal so that it connects to the server database? If yes then which method should I use or which is better.

You will need to open firewall ports to connect another terminal to Server.

Purpose of using different terminal names within SambaPOS is for reporting purposes and automation, in case you have different automation commands or rule sets for each terminal. I.e. Server opens cash drawer 1 upon payment and terminal 2 opens cash drawer 2 upon payment.
