Bucket Price Problem

Dear all,

I have a 2 questions to check if is possible.

1. Can I create a Category name as (Bucket Beer) and price the category at $50.
   Inside of it will have 10 different type of beers.
   So I can choose any 5 of bottles beer for $40.

2. Instead of have a category name as Bucket Beer, I can create a product name (Bucket Beer $40) and using modifier to select the up to 5 bottles of beer. (maybe 4 x beer a + 1 x beer b)

both solutions have 1 issue, is that we need to deduct the stocks from inventory.

Or is there any better solution ?

Basically I am setting up a pub POS. We sell individual bottle beers at say $10-12 each and 5 bottles at $40 and/or $50 (2 bucket bundle choices)

And we need to deduct the bottles of beer accordingly.

Please advice.

Hi, let me try to help you…

1. I dont think Categories can have prices, and I dont see why that would be interesting… instead try products and Order tags for products…
   start here: Using Order Tags as Product Modifiers

2. that is the correct way,and since you are in V5, there will be soon an update where you can use order tags in a receipe and discount from stock inventory.

We all have Menu Items that use varying amounts of the same Ingredients (Inventory). We can control Inventory Consumption on a per-Item basis via Recipes and Product Portions. Following your links, I had manage 1/2 way the situation.

Let me explain clearly what is the other 1/2 situation.

Example:

I have this customer order the $38 bucket
and he selected 2 tiger beer, 3 Heineken beer

I need it to show this way on the screen.

$38 Bucket 38.00
-2 Tiger Beer

Set each of the beer Order Tags Max Quantity value to 5.

Do not use Portions for this scenario. They will not help you.

Create a Product for each Beer:
Product Name: Heineken

• Portion: Normal Price: 7.00
  Product Name: Tiger
• Portion: Normal Price: 7.00

Create a Product for Bucket:
Product Name: $38 Bucket

• Portion: Normal Price: 38.00

Create Order Tag Group called Bucket Beers
In the Order Tags list for Bucket Beers, add 2 Tags:

• Heineken
• Tiger
  Map the Order Tags to their applicable Beer Product.
  In Mappings, map the Order Tag Group to the $38 Bucket Product.
  Follow my previous instructions for setting Max Selected Items (5) and Quantity (5).

In Products > Menu List > [Menu]
Select the Category that contains the $38 Bucket, and click the bottom link for Edit Product Properties.
Check the box next to $38 Bucket labelled Auto-select.

Yes, your Recipes look correct.

You must ensure you map the Beer Products to the Order Tags…

Show your inventory items for those products as well as recipes?

You have a mistake with your inventory item. You have not defined a Transaction Unit and for Tiger you have a mistake with an extra unit it has no unit name.

One more important step that I forgot to mention:

You need to create a Recipe for the Master Product: $38 Bucket.
You should leave the Recipe empty, but it must exist.

In V5, there is another way to set this up, which for this scenario, I prefer. This alternate setup shows Cost and Profit Rate in a different way, which I feel makes more sense for this type of Product…

As you can see above, the Cost/Profit Rate using the V4 method does not really give useful information. The alternate V5 setup makes much more sense.
