Is this possible now with v5 to adjust the permission to allow only manager or shift supervisor to do that ?
I know we ask this a lot and it seems like it might be annoying sometimes but it really helps us understand the need if you can answer this.
Can you explain your desired business flow and the real world need for locking Change Table to just manager or supervisor? I mean what is the issue that leads you to feel the need to lock that function?
@kendash
Thanks for your response.
Well the problem is similar to that post some order takers are caught and collecting money and not cashing tables. Instead he/she moved this ticket to another table and printed the same ticket again. Hence getting paid for two tables and only recording one sale.
so his suggestion is to have some kinda of confirmation pin when table change button is pressed or initiated by order takers
the owner suggestion is to make it only available or clickable only to shift manager or supervisor
I wasnt sure if thats possible with v4 I looked for the change table b all over the place but i cant find it to map the permissions to the manager role but I heard its possible with v5
Pin number by the manager or supervisor will suffice also
Thank you guys for this awesome great application
That is not possible atm,. however Im not convinced its the best solution. The issue is theft and the person is cleverly using Move Tables option to do it. I have learned through many years of experience that person will probably continue to steal by finding another crafty method once you take away the one he or she is using now.
So maybe we should look at a way to catch the theft instead of restricting a POS solution. Let me think about it some more and I can probably come up with some ideas.
We can restrict the ability to print multiple tickets. Still thinking of other solutions.
This is my personal favorite:
You can lock ticket when Bill Printed and take away that users ability to unlock ticket.
When a ticket is locked you can not change tables or entities only Settle.
Yes! Locking feature implemented to restrict that. Alternatively Unlock Ticket button can be a admin pin verified button.
Thanks for all your inputs I was playing with it so my plan is to remove that unlocking role permissions from order taker then add lock ticket to the actions list of the Close Button
