Custom entity screen background does not show

Hello,

Using latest release of SambaPOS 4.x the custom entity screen does not show.

It is properly defined as a full path image which works in prior SambaPOS (3…x and 2.x)

Hello. Today I’ve noticed a strange windows bug. I don’t know if your problem is same or not but I thought a lot of people might experince that problem.

This is how I’m copying file names:

I’m right clicking file name and click properties. From security tab I’m highlighting file name.

When I paste this file name background image does not appear.

After dealing with that for a while I’ve noticed I’ve also copied some invalid (and invisible) characters. When I paste that on command prompt it displays a question mark before file name.

Obviously when I paste this path SambaPOS can’t resolve that.

###Solution

Delete background image value and press backspace key a couple of times to be ensure you’ve also deleted invalid chars and enter file name by hand typing or make a clean copy by pasting it in notepad and copying it again.

I’ll add a file name picker there on future versions.

Hello,

I did it by hand and it has a new issue, now, when I click the POS and goto the custom entity screen I have created it causes a crash of SAMBAPOS 4 and it generates a crash report as followsÑ

Does it happens on latest version (4.1.11) too?

On 4.1.11 it does not crash however it does not show the background, it’s just blank. Also I can’t right click to create a custom entity layout anymore.

So be sure your entity screen type is selected as “Custom”

Hello,

That did it, setting it to Automatic did not work. Setting it to auto did fix the issue on the latest release.

I did notice something, if I go into “Design Mode” and add an entity button then I select preferences and set it to one of my existing entities (a table) it does work however the button does not change color when a ticket is pending.

For example, in a normal layout if I click an entity (table) and ring in a few items but do not settle the check and I back out, the button is then orange indicating there is a pending ticket. However in a custom layout with custom entities, the buttons do not change colors they just stay gray, this makes it hard to tell where pending tickets are.

Do you have any fixes for this?

Thank you.

Update “Display State” as “Status”.

Hi Emre,

I am not sure I am doing this properly,

In my custom entity screen I goto the second option and it has Display State field but it is not a drop down it’s a text box, so i write: Status and then save it, but it still does not work. Am I doing something wrong?
