How to add tip after taxes?

How to add tip to the bill after the taxes?

Taxes using the built in tax setup are mapped to products, you would just need to map your tax around the tip product/product group.
As you cannot map as exclude you would have to map all the product groups other than your tips.

@JTRTech Tips are generally not setup as a product…

Sorry, based that on the last post I saw with tips where they had a tip product…my mistake

Yes if you are referring to the thread where he wanted drinks setup as tips… that is a very strange way to do it and I have personally never seen it before. But generally they are setup as Calculations.

Have not had a setup where tips go through the till, places seem to prefer to keep them separate.

A lot of places do not report Tips however many places do report tips. Technically in USA its illegal not to report tips. Its a fine line to walk if you choose to report or not. I personally choose to report them.

In UK it is staffs responsibility to declare their own tips income if they are divided by the staff themselves in a ‘Trunke’ I believe is the tearm.
If the owner/manager organises tips then then they have to be paid as part of their payslip and the employer deducts the tax.
Obviously as everyone knows tips is a much bigger thing in the USA.

Well in the USA most situations its the same, however some States have whacky laws that allow a Waitress Wage of around $2.00/hour and they report tips as wages. So as you can guess its important to track tips in these situations.

However if I was not going to report tips and was not going to require my employees to report them to me which technically is illegal… I wouldnt put them through the POS at all I would just let them pocket it and require the tips to be cash only.

You always here things about waitresses getting almost nothing and living on tips, so it isnt an exaduration in some places then?

Its legal in the USA in some States to pay the low Waitress wage. However if they dont make enough tips to meet a specific level then they get paid a full minimum wage rate. Last I checked the waiter/waitress wage is around $2.75/hour in some states.

2.75 is minimum wage or what they get before tips? :frowning:

2.75 is the waitress wage… minimum wage in USA in most States is 7.55-9.00 with VERY few at 10.00+

EDIT: fixed my post so its more clear

Thank you very much, i really appreciate it.
