Is there any way to send message through hangouts

Is there a way that I can use the url printer to send a user a message on hangouts? Hangouts is a chat program from google. I dont know if you guys are familiar with the new android wear watches but I have a great idea in making it work with samba.

The issue would be the syntax to login and execute command… it all depends on hangouts and what it allows etc. I am thinking no you would not be able too. But who knows you can look into it.

I just did, it looks like its a no go. How awesome would it be for a waitress to get notifications soon as an order is ready in the kitchen. Ill keep looking at alternatives, I know it would work through email fairly well as I just tested it but sometimes email doesn’t arrive immediately.

You can use Text as well. You need to find a good SMS text web service… (NOT FREE ONE)

Why not try looking at openfire server… It uses xmpp protocol for sending instant messages so it can work locally using an app on tablets or using the spark messaging client… And its opensource… http://www.igniterealtime.org/projects/openfire/

Also look at this… A command line utility to send messages using the xmpp protocol to users. https://thwack.solarwinds.com/docs/DOC-146769
