I’m using v4 CE in win7. i’m trying to add “item count” or i’m not sure what is it called actually.
you can see the attachment i selected that section in red i wan the first order item to have “no 1”, second order item to have “no 2” and so on. i tried order count but it only show “no 5” for all 5 line.
There was an order index tag added in V5 which I think could be used to achive this but dont think there is a simple way to do this in V4.
I expect you could achieve by setting an incremental order state to orders using a program setting and an order added rule to set a order number state as they are added and increasing the program setting by 1 (although this would become very complex when it comes to canceling/voiding orders) as the sequence would then have ‘gaps’…
Yes V5 has a new printer tag for that but also some advanced tags may not work with CE as well.
ok noted…will not move to v5 anytime soon so i guess have to preprint the index number in ms word. since i’m using a4 size invoice and my letterhead n logo is also preprinted using ms word this will be killing 2 bird with 1 stone…problem is how accurate is my stone going to hit the bird…the headache it trying to get the preprinted index aligned with the sambapos ticket print template. i guess have to trial n error many times
I have v4 loaded on my test machine let me see if I can play around with few things for you. V5 is so much better program that I dont use v4 much at all anymore so I forget whats possible. Im just used to practically everything being possible with v5 
ok thanks in advance.i’m just helping setup small business. since they are not willing to pay i cannot ask them upgrade to v5 and beggars can’t be choosers so they will just have to settle with the preprinted method. dont take too much of your time if really too much hassle then might just tell them to upgrade or just settle for less
Yeah I thought I could come up with a way to dynamically name a program setting and use that but I forgot just how few Printer Tags were in v4. Nothing I can use for that. I do not think its possible in v4 to do this at all. {ORDER TIME} came close but if you quickly order back to back then that wont work.

That is unfortunate. I know different business owners have different priorities but I find in todays world investing a small amount into a VERY powerful POS will actually save more money than just about any other cost saving idea. Of course from your end you know that I am sure and its never easy to pursuade someone.
