Kithchen order separating mains and entees

Hi, I have problem how to make separator on the kitchen printer that will separate Entrees from the main meals when printed out. As I am in Italian restaurant almost every meal has an option to be done in a entrée or main meal size. So some people for entrée may order main meal size to share between, and than for the main meal they may order entrée meal size. So my idea is to create button that will once I enter meals that would be ordered for entrée than by click on that button to insert some line or something like that so the chef knows that meals printed after this line would be served as a main meals no matter if is entrée or main meal size… Anyone with suggestion? Thanks

You want something a bit like ive done.
Although depends on how you are defining entee and mains ie same product with portions or seperate products or maybe tags.

I dont have quite the exact same products but have setup a product/item tag for course (starter, main or dessert) this then translates to a state which i use for grouping orders allong with a automatic cover count and some other bits however depending on how you want to group on the print (state etc) you just want a button to change that state say. Printed groups can be defined by a few different factors not just product group etc.

Thanks for the response, any links with instructions? Thanks

Have you got them grouped on print yet? Are you just looking for changing or whole thing?

I am just finishing the menu which is very complicated with lots of mods and than that is my next job to group them but not shore how it is working yet as did not start it yet, but in my head I was thinking something like in my question, maybe when I get to that part I ask question or if you could provide some links would appreciate it. Thanks

Quick forum search should get you there…
I used states, either based on menu item tag/custom tag on order adding or you could maybe set a state from the menu item properties if I remember right.
Then group on that state.
Get grouping working first and then youll just need to setup a button to change that state.
