You have incorrect Database Login (connection string), so SambaPOS cannot attach to the DB.

OK and what do I do now to fix it ??

Under C:\Users\<Your User Name> folder you’ll see SambaPOS5.mdf and SambaPOS5_log.ldf files. Move them to somewhere else. Restart SambaPOS. It should re-generate these files and start with default setup.

If you have V4 backup you can try restoring it on top of V5 at SambaPOS > Management > Settings > Database Backups screen.

I have tried that didnt work

ok so samba v5 doesn’t start going to stick with samba v4 is there any chance i can have dark theme on v4 ??

Dark theme is v5 only.

i realy like the look of v5 and i want to buy it but until i can start it i wont be able:(

I would love to help you but your not giving much info about your problem.

Ok i am sorry.
The problem become after my assistent manager have instaled a samba v5 while i had samba v4 insaled on my work laptop. Then he uninstalled it and then reinstalled and then the issue become. as soon as i try to start samba v5 it pop up with msg saying that i have to restart and issue is saved in Log. I realy appreciate you tring to help what other information would you need.

Go to your c:/programdata/sambapos5 folder and delete the sambasettings.txt file. Restart and see if it loads. You will need to enable show hidden files.

Or rename it if you don’t want to delete.

SambaSetting.txt can be located here
C:\ProgramData\SAMBAPOS\SambaPOS5
Or
C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\SambaPOS\SambaPOS5

If it is the same computer you should see SambaPOS4 Folder too. So, compare connection string V4 and V5. Or just delete/rename SambaSetting.txt and restart, it should regenerate.

I have done all you say restart and still same thing

samba v5
> </MessagingServerPort><ConnectionString /><StartMessagingClient>false</StartMessagingClient><DefaultHtmlReportHeader>

samba v4

<MessagingServerPort>8080</MessagingServerPort><ConnectionString /><StartMessagingClient>false</StartMessagingClient><DefaultHtmlReportHeader>

You dont have closing part of connection string… might be the issue…
Or rather looks rather messed up…

Replace;
<ConnectionString />

With;
<ConnectionString></ConnectionString>

Or just delete that file…
Samba will make a new one if it doesnt exist.

This is my part of the file with pw blanked out;

<MessagingServerPort>8383</MessagingServerPort> <MessagingServerName>localhost</MessagingServerName> <TerminalName>Till</TerminalName> <ConnectionString>Data Source=localhost\SAMBAPOS; User Id=sa; Password=********; Database=RAH;</ConnectionString><StartMessagingClient>true</StartMessagingClient>

and make sure in C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\SambaPOS\SambaPOS5 folder doesn’t have any SambaSetting.txt.

Tried all of them nothing work tried to delete tried to replace and still doesnt work

sukasem and i check the folder all i could find in there was “migrate” file

Empty recycle bin just encase.
