Can the Primary Field for Customers be changed to something else?
We only store Customers by first name only for our TO GO orders. E.G. We have a customer “John” and are not able to add a second customer named “John”

You can make any field the Primary. You have control of this designation.
This is not an Issue so I am changing it to question for forum consistency. The forum category Issue should be used when something is broken or clearly not working as intended in Samba not to be confused with configuration errors.
I am not able to change primary field. I added a Custom Field named Phone at set it as index field, but it does not seems to work.
Am I doing something wrong?
umm you typed John for Phone if you have phone as primary then do not make a phone custom or you get two phones
Your custom field would be name
Primary (First one)field should be he’s phone Second ond is adress and the last one you need to rename as name field

The label on Customer screen seems to change to whatever you set for index.
I wish there was a hidden key to index Customers.
the entire thing is fully custom. Customers was just setup as sample data you in fact can make it anything you want including the screen. play around with it you will get familiar with it quick through trial and error
