Product Price Definitions giving me some trouble for different customers

I have one product category where the price

Black label for a Bottle is set at 170,000, but for this customer it is 125,000.

In the same instance, I have set Full English to 35,000 for this customer whereas the normal price is 20,000

The Full English Price Changes, But the Black Label does not.

Im not sure but i have been playing around with multipliers and getting weird results, Im just not sure what is going on here and how o rectify it.

Show the rest of the setup. We can’t tell by just those screenshots.

okay, here are all the screenshots of the process of making the entities and price definitions as well as the product portions and price list.

I have a feeling its to do with the ORDER ADDED TO TICKET rule, So if i change the single portion price, then when Black label is clicked that correct price for that customer will show, but when the portion is changed, then it reverts back to the original pricing on the product.

Try creating a rule for Order Portion Changed event and execute related action there.

I created an Order Portion Changed Rule and linked it the the update order price change action that was already there.

Now Whilst I do get the correct price on the first click on the Drink, selecting the Double or Bottle Portions sizes, does not implement any change to the ticket, it just stays as a Single portion

Be sure your order updating action or any other action does not updates portions.

I have spent a day looking through all my order actions and can’t see anything that does portions, is this something that is done automatically?

could anyone tell me what actions I should specifically look at that might be causing this problem?

I didn’t have a chance to test it with V4 but with V5 it works fine. I’m not sure if it is because how V4 works or a configuration error you made because that feature slightly changed with V5.

I’ll be happy if we can defer that issue until V5 release. I hope to release it soon and I’ll be happy if you can test that with V5 when released and update this topic.

Thanks.

Okay, In that case I shall try and find an alternate method as I want the system to go live in a few days.
I would be more than happy to test this out in V5 when released.

Okay, so just tried a few things, nothing seems to work, Order Portion Changed is just not going through.

Solution has been to take out all portions from all items and make new menu items for them. This is a viable solution, however my Bar menu has more than tripled in on screen buttons

Try creating sub categories, in category editor where it lists all products in that category there is a column for sub category tag, type in there the name of the sub category and that button will appear on pos after pressing the main category button, press that sub cat button and those products will be under there

I’m planning on doing this with pint, half and pitcher instead of using order tags so my draught category will have for example fosters pint, foster half, fosters pitcher but they will be tagged with either pint, half or pitcher. So I’ll press draught button on pos, then select either pint, half or pitcher then select fosters etc

@RickH
Hi Rick, thats what i am just going through at the moment, So I have Bar>Whiskeys> (then ill drink A portion 1, Drink A portion 2, Drink A portion 3) and there will be around 6 or 7 drinks in that sub category…or is there a way to create Sub-Sub-catergories?

There was some talk of sub sub categories but I can’t remember I’ll see if I can find anyhung

V5 has much more sub category options.

I couldn’t remember I just posted in V5 as I’ve not looked into sub cats properly yet, I’m just on way home from holiday so can’t access samba. Wife’s driving and I’m using iPad in back of car lol

Been on road for 7.5 hrs with 3 still to go :frowning:

@kendash, thats excellent to hear, my only problem is, my system must go live by Monday and I am no-where near getting everything in order.
Also, I know from reading other topics that emre is hard at work on V5, cannot wait for it to come out, it apparently solves a great many issues I am having

Here’s the info, we’ve been able to do sub sub categories since V2!

It was possible even on V2 smile You can review this post to see how Beverages > Hot Drinks > Herbal category configured. Basically you’ll split categories with comma char. Dot char is also supported on V5.

What Rickh posted should help solve most of your needs @Keval_Patel until v5 comes out.
