Reporting food and beverage revenue

Hi - we have recently just started using Samba and need some advise please on how to report revenue for food and beverage.

We have set up Menu Categories as the examples below:

Starter
Main Course
Dessert
Wines
Beers

Is it possible to group these categories in to their respective main groups i.e. food or beverage for reporting purposes?

Yes. You can review Item Sales Report to have an idea.

Thank you. We have reviewed the Item Sales Report and that gives us the information by category (i.e. wines, beers, soft drinks).

Is it possible to have a report that shows the total of these sales under one heading “beverage”?

You can use Product Tag area for that.

Tag your products as you need.

… and change your reports to group by ItemTag instead of ItemGroup.

For example I duplicated first part of Item Sales report and changed it to group by tag on second report.
