Restore from SDF

i followed the tutorial above and sambapos now shows SQ instead of CE

but when it launches it dosent show my work it launches as its new. how can i make it read the data base which i just converted from CE
i was searching in the forum and iam not sure which topic is related to this question and which correct steps i should follow
i really appreciate your help

The tutorial tells you step by step how.

I followed that tutorial in early days with little samba experience and NO SQL experience.
I didn’t know what I was doing but just followed step by step and it worked first time.

Same here, took me a while as I was going through slowly and thoroughly
 but got there

Guys i am not lazy to search or read. i already made the query i just dont know how to make samba read it instead of the original one.
it takes the same effort from you to tell me how as the way your advising me to read. at least quote it to me i already got too much confused i dont understand why it bothers u like that

Dont quite understand, you said it work but only takeaway???

And you show error log???

No one is saying you’re lazy, we are giving you instructions on how to do it but you’re still asking how it’s done.

Now, let’s see how far you have got. It seems from what you are saying that you have samba connected to a default sql database but still have a dormant sdf file that you are still yet to convert, correct?

i called it samba. the pos reads it perfect in CE not in SQ

What is SambaPOS4 database? And WHat is connection string in SambaPOS?

sambapos4 is the original one it appears by default. the other one samba has the converted SDF i made new database as the tutorial explained and then query was accepted!

but yet the POS does not read it. when i switch to CE it works perfect which means the SDF file is good

You are not showing connection string. Too late now, time to bed good luck.

Go to your local settings and click database

Click edit connection and show a screen shot

Where it says data connection string
show the whole string. It’s the end I need to see

is that what you mean

The database name isn’t there

So you say your database is called Samba

put Samba in the database box

If the database was made properly it should connect to Samba and give you back your old database

the query was successfully accepted when i created it but i dont know why its not accepted

Did you update Sambapos?

It’s either that or the database didn’t convert properly.

Go into ssms and show the tables for Database Samba
