Samba Delivery Modules Customisation for Drivers (Real time Job Allocation)

Hi

I have a scenario where I would like to use SAMBA but not sure if business requirements can be achieved with SAMBA functionality or not. Business case

  1. 2 food Locations, Inventory/Stock Management is required

  2. 10+15 delivery drivers, driver carry extra stock with them and a smart phone

  3. Delivery Orders are taken on phone by staff (5 people on phone) and allocated to one of drivers

My question, is there any way with SAMBA to pass jobs to individual drivers on smart phone and allow drivers to close orders once delivered and pick up next job in their queue, If SAMBA had API that I could use to access orders with then I would have gone ahead with development of phone app development… Please Advice, What will be the best possible way to achieve real time delivery management with SAMBA?

Even though I have not tested Stock Management with SAMBA yet but I think with concept of SAMBA Warehouse and Inventory I should be able to manage stock at two locations with centralised database.

If this is possible I’d also be very interested to learn how it’s done.

Built in support for multi location is not available yet. If you are clever you could make it work but it would be entirely dependant on your internet connection. If your internet goes down you would lose a location completely.

Do you mean multi support is not available for Stock Managment ? Internet connection on mobile is not an issue, all drivers are on 4g with latest smart phones :smile:

Also anyone, can we send order details via SMS to delivery driver instead of customer ? I am thinking to use SMS to pass jobs to drivers for now as a temprary solution…
