I solved problem it was my mistake.
Hi ,
I am also facing the same issue … what mistake did you do that the cash , credit button went missing… I might have done the same but can’t identify it .
youve removed the payments from your ticket type i think, or removed the mappings. have a look at your ticket type settings im not at my machine so cant show screenshots at the moment
go to Manage>Tickets>Payment Types and ensure you have the payment types listed. if not you need to recreate them, if they are there check the mappings you can map them to specific ticket types, if your ticket type doesnt have them mapped they will not show on the settle screen
Hi RickH I was trying too many things so dont know what I did and suddenly started getting Exception Thrown error …I saw a solution in the forum to delete Sambasetting.txt file which I did and it restored it to factory settings so now I have the regular settle screen but need to create whole product list and menu all over again .
On settle screen How can I add option to add credit to a customer . I mean if some customer wont pay at the time of billing but would pay later on and I want to keep a check on it can I include a button on settle screen for the same ?
Thanks
tyou need to create them as a customer entity, then when selecting them you need to click the create account button. this will create an account for that customer and enable to account button on the payment screen
unless you have manually clicked the create account button for each customer you want to “pay later” you will not be able to use the account payment button in the settle screen
Thanks ,
So you mean for every such transaction I first need to create this pay later button individually …that would be difficult in practical use …
yes, once for each customer, once the account is created the option to pay by account for that customer will be available in the settle screen all the time.
Samba does not automatically create accounts when a customer entity is created, you have to manually “activate” their account to allow them to “pay later”. This is by design as we dont want activate customer account for people we dont want to have this facility.
It should be very easy in practical use as you have to add the customer entity to the ticket to anyway, when you do this you just press the create account button, it takes a second to do
What is the environment/terminal use?
Are you looking for credit/debit type account or just ability to pay next day or so like a bar tab?
The pre-order ticket type is handy if you just want to allow a ticket to be carried over work periods.
Is more like a bar tab than an account.
Once you create the customers account you to do have to do it again.
Hi ,
I have few student customers who visit our restaurant everyday sometimes they are out of cash and I allow them to pay later, but I have to keep a note of it in a book. but now since I am planning to move to SambaPos I wish that I can keep a track of all such transaction … As all these customers are my regular customer I can have their details pre-stored in my customer account database.
Something like shown in the screenshot … when I click on Customer account …the amount should get transferred to the selected customer’s account as receivables,
and in Account reports it should reflect under “Sales” but as Receivables .
And when the customer pays it later-on I can go back to the ticket and close it with cash received
Is it possible to achieve ?
Yes this is a built in function as i explained above, you need to go back to selct customer and when you have selected them press the create account button
This will create their account and activate the account payment button on settle screen
You must click create account from the customer entity search screen for this to work
I Tried as you suggested When I go in to Select customer from the Settle screen …it doesn’t give me option to “Create Account” it appears only when I select customer and click “Edit Customer” and even after clicking on Edit Cust —> Create Account …When I return to payment screen the Button " Customer Account " doesnt get Highlighted …
There myst be something else going on then as when you click edit customer and then click create account that should activate the button, thats the default behaviour so you have changed something
Have you got the customer account button correctly mapped?
After you added the account did you select that customer?
I Dont know why it was not happening I might have done some changes which I can’t Identify now.
But I tried another thing I created another Account type along with Transaction Type as “Credit” and now the “Customer Account” Button is activated …but when I click on it the amount goes under “Credit” account
That is correct. Credit makes it work like a credit account. It builds up until you pay it. Debif makes it so you need to put money in the account first before you can pay with it.
In accounting credit simply means money in.
I always thought it was the other way round too.
Ie. If it was an account for someone that owes you money a charge/invoices was an account debit and a payment was a credit… but thinking about it a minus balance to me would mean money owed to the customer/‘store credit’ in which case obviously my understanding of credit and debt are back to from as money owed would be a minus figure…
