So basically I need to know how can I make a server PC with a database server on it, of some kind.
and then connect my main used PC to it using static IP, should be simple, any ideas?
Thats not much of a samba question… LOL
In theory if you use static IP most PCs dont need crossover cable or anything l;ink that so you can go direct or via a switch. Google PC Networking for more details on the networking side.
Follow the SQL install tutorial on the server;
Install samaba on the terminal PC and set the database settings in local to point to the server and the SQL database as in the tutorial.
