SambaPOS V4 vs PDA

SambaPOS V4 using PDA

does it work for pda?

It will work on any device with .net 4.5 (i think) compatible/elidgable windows locally OR any device with RDP abilities.
Size is clearly a hindrance here but if your happy with that.
Could use a smart phone if you wanted…
I have debugged a local system on my iPhone with RDP before, just not most user friendly interface on that size device.

I just want to clarify - you can use any device (like Android, iPhone, etc.) like a PDA by creating RDP connection to a Windows system where SambaPOS is installed.

However, mostly when people refer to a PDA, they are talking about Windows PDAs which generally come with Windows CE or some old Windows Mobile OS. None of these would be compatible for directly installed SambaPOS, but they should all be compatible using RDP just like I mentioned above.

 thats why I specified .net 4.5 elidgable which they wouldnt be.

Could anybody by any chance tell me what handheld device mehmet is actually using in that video.

It looks very nice.

so the pda must be on net 4.5?

For local install samba v4 upwards requires .net 4.5
Requirements for this are;

Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2, Windows Vista Service Pack 2

Not sure where mobile and pos Windows fall into this.
Believe most tablets to be Windows 8 or 10 now.
Not sure on mobiles.
PDA wise… Not sure the last time I even saw a pda and small tablets have virtually replaced them as far as I’m conserned, end of day think they were tablets before tablets were a thing.

If you wanted a pda new now don’t think they would even be called pad would they, either a large 5"+ mobile or a 8"- tablet

Additional supported Windows versions for local install:

Windows Embedded POSReady 7, Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro (Retail)

Any other variant of Windows Embedded (even 7, 8 / 8.1 and 10) is NOT supported. They are specialist operating systems that only come with very specific industry devices.

Any other mobile / PDA type OS is NOT supported for local install, this includes any variation of Windows CE, Windows Mobile or Windows Phone. Any such device can only support an RDP connection to another system which has SambaPOS installed.

And also just for clarification even mentioned so many places on the forum already, Windows XP and Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 is also NOT supported.
