Thanks for creating such a great product. SambaPOS is great. I have set up the software for my restaurant with a server (main unit) and windows tablet accessing the main db via wifi on the homegroup. Both running windows 10.
We provide restaurant service and a takeaway service. I have managed to put a menu on for the restaurant service but i need to have a menu for the takeaway service which has exactly the same items but at a cheaper price. I have tried adding the same products but the system wont allow me to add the same product. Is there a way of having the following:
I know you can have different portions but you have to select these individually for each product you enter. Is there a process to automate so that when I select takeaway, it will automatically insert the takeaway portion?

Create a Take Away Department and set everything the same except Price Tag set it to your Take Away you made:
That is one method if that’s not what your looking for let me know. V5 supports things like Switching Menu’s you could Clone all products and put a single space at end of each name it would allow it to virtually have same product but it would contain different prices etc. You could then place those products in a Take Away menu and swap menus through automation. This would allow a single department but require much more automation.
There are other methods as well but most of them require more work with automation. For example you could use Ticket Tags to designate Take Away or Dine In and automate price list change if tagged.
There are even more methods but I wont try and explain them all. Personally the department or Ticket tag method are the two quickest and easiest to setup. The multi menu/product clone method is much more complex.
