Let’s say there is an open ticket on table 1. The customer on table 1 wanted to order some more food. The cashier will go add the added items to the ticket. How can the only added items to be printed to the kitchen printer?

Be default it is setup that way. You must have changed it.

No it is done when you close ticket.
Default kitchen print action looks for new items only.
Have you set a kitchen printer in printer settings?
