Stop Kitchen Printing for Drinks Only Orders

We have a restaurant and a bar so when we get a drinks only order how do we stop the kitchen print?
I have seen your examples about different departments but this means that must select the correct department first and if user half way through the order decides they want a kitchen item and we clear the items on the order to start a new order in the correct department the user can not change the department back because an order has been started but there are no items to be paid for.

So what I want is a way to select what products are to be printed on a kitchen order and if there or none of those products on the sale then the kitchen order is not printed.

How do I do this?
