Tracking same bottle in 2 bars on one inventory

I am setting up my Bar inventories, but have run into a little snag.
I have 2 Bars and hence very often there is the same brand of bottle open in both bars, However the inventory only assumes 1 bottle is open at a time and hence make it a little difficult to track both bottles at the same time.

For Example:
A bottle of Black Label is present at both bars, one has 250ml left the other has 500ml left (both 750ml bottles), and in stock there are 10 bottles.
The inventory will show that there are 11 bottles because it assumes the 500+250=750 is the same bottle and is therefore a full bottle.

Possible work arounds?

Hi Keval,

Do you have one till for 2 bars or 2 tills, for each bar one? then the configuration could be different.

If you have one Till you can make 2 different product lists (BeveragesBar1 & BeveragesBar2)
The use of custom tags is also possible, but I would need some more info about your setup.

Hi Peter,

I have a till at each Bar, so Till 1 and Till 2.

You should separate warehouses by bar and you’ll have a main warehouse. You’ll have separate departments for each bar, assign each department to warehouses and create warehouse transfer documents as you give bottles from main warehouse to bar.

Hi emre,

I shall look into that, however i was skeptical because both bars take food orders to the same kitchen, would having different warehouses for the drinks interfere with the way food orders are processed

Emre is correct, and product lists (BeveragesBar1 & BeveragesBar2) don’t work.
In my warehouse is only Beverages and not food, so this should be the solution.

Right, so lets see if I have got this straight. I should be able to access all menu items from each till, however the drinks stock for each till will be determined by the amount of drinks stock transferred from my stock room to each Bar.

Now I just need to create documents for internal Transfers for Stock to Bar 1, Stock to Bar 2 and Purchase Documents for Suppliers to Stock Room. correct?

Yes I think you are correct, have not tried this myself but looks logical

I am still trying to do it, not sure how I manage the stock so that Bar 2 warehouse is linked to the bar 2 till

Look at the Inventory Items Warehouse:

This I have seen, but using the screen shot you have, lets say I also have Vodka in Bar 2, I would have to create a duplicate item and select warehouse Bar 2 for the duplicate correct?

OK sorry there is no support for order based warehouse mapping on V4. It is ticket based so processing both drinks and foods on same ticket will decrease from same warehouse. Assigning warehouse for inventory items is something different. For example assigning olive oil to kitchen warehouse will hide olive oil inventory from bar warehouse but we will still allow olive oil transactions.

On V5 we will allow order line based warehouse selection so you can assign drinks to bar warehouse and food to kitchen warehouse.

Ah I see, so my best option at the moment is to have a singular stock for both bars and when v5 comes out change it then.
