Where is my sampos SDF file at?

seriously pissing me off, I’ve created most of the menu/prices/modifiers but i can’t seem to find my sambapos4.SDF file. there is NONE. at my documents, not even a samba pos4 folder
let alone any where else, is there a way to locate, tried doing windows search, also is it possible it’s not in Compact mode? if so how do i transfer my data now? complicated =/

C:\Users\youruser\Documents\SambaPOS4

yeah theres nothing remotely close to a sambapos4 folder in that directory =/

Double click on the logo of Sambapos to Lhsum what is your Data Base. CE\SQ

guess it was installed in sq? full? it’s definitely listed as SQ

So its not an sdf file.brobeble sql sever local db. Plese explain what you need to do. Do you want to move database to another pc? Or to atach mor terminals to this db?

move the data base off this computer to another. no wonder all that looking for the sdf file wasn’t working =/

try
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server Local DB\Instances\v11.0

Create backup on one computer and restore that on another…

Database Backup Tools are very handy for this. While they are not required and everything can be done through Microsoft SQL management software the Database Backup Tools module located in Samba Market makes this a breeze. You literally just choose a backup destination… create a backup, then install samba and load that backup on the new computer.

:warning: On install you choose exactly how it is installed and the installer explains it. I recommend anyone reading this that has not installed SambaPOS yet or does not have much experience with SambaPOS yet to carefully read the options on the installer as it explains it quite well.

The SQL version of SambaPOS is the best option as it has full support for all database functions some that the compact edition does not and can not support.

from here which file do i have to take? is it ?

msdbdata.mdf

The DB files are usually in a subfolder called Data, and there should be 2 of them per database, likely something like:

sambapos.mdf
sambapos.ldf

However, simply transferring these files from 1 computer to another will probably not work properly. Instead, use the DB Backup module in SambaPOS, or use SQL Managment Studio, or SQL command line tools like OSQL.EXE to perform a DB backup (usually creates a .BAK file). Then transfer the BAK file to the other computer and use the same tools to Restore it.
