Windows 7 64 bit or above plus printers

Hi,

Sorry for another newbie question.

a) Is it okay to use windows 7 or above on 64 bit, on a local server setup? One server, two desktops and two windows tablets.

b) Which printers will be the least troublesome, I need two receipt printers for the desktop, two kitchen printers and one bar printer. Confused about the different connection types available.

Thanks

Ethernet printers are the best. Yes you can use win7

Not sure of ots just a terminology discrepancy but general reconmendation and requirment for multiple terminals is sql server (sql express) rather than the local db option on the standard samba install.
Sql express is general reconmendation either way as offers greater stability and functionality.

Printers wise networked (Ethernet) printers are ideal if budget allows but with a bit of tweeking automation bar printer at least could be shared is it were doubled as a terminal printer.
Kitchen printer is generally best as Ethernet.

Are they any issues with 64 bit and printer drivers?

Thanks

Everything is 64bit now days. No there are not.

Any experience with the above printer? Or more to the point any printer recommendations?

I got one but not the network one. it cheap and work fine for me at the moment.

Waste if time trying to bit on these action listings, reserve is only a few pound less that the buy it now price on the other listing for similar printers,
Think there is one listed for boy it now at £70.
Haven’t bought new from that supplier but did buy job lot of used ones which looked to be exact same and to be honest even at £70-80 new are cheap and ideal, give there connectivity of usb, network and wireless.
Epson are probably going to last longer maybe but cost 3-4 times as much.
Main thing the Chinese direct brands tend to have is poor driver/utility for setup vs epson but some I believe can pretty much use the epson drivers anyway.
