Would VoIP Technology work with samba?

Hello ALL

would VoIP Technology work with samba?

I am planning to have Voip from one of the companies and keep using the internet from local company like virgin because the cost of calling + internet £60 a month

but I am wondering about caller id connected to my epos samba do it work with VoIP

Yes, I can say for sure fundamentals should work.
Tested using a Analog ATA device to covert voip to normal telecom to which connected callerid device andnot the caller id up in a popup.
Likely would need some tinkering but priciples would be the same.
I was using an onsite PBX as the voip system so would customised the call data but should be doable.

You can buy FXO device. It will convert VOIP to PSTN line just like old telephone.

FXS for that way round, FXO is to make a voip gateway using a PSTN line.
Which is good for you as FXS units are much cheaper than FXO.

Best way to remember I read was O being for Outside connection being PSTN, pretty sure thats not what it really stands for LOL

Maybe you are right I forgot S or O now. I use IP phone for last 8 years.

This is what I used;

Was testing to use sambapos caller id on server as a way for using room phones at hotel as a way to update room status to clean on PMS as part of my PMS intergration.
