Add Inventory Giving Problem

looks the server was down…anyways i am having problem to save the unit name under additonal unit. if i enter the name and when i click on save it disappers.

i also faced problem when i clone an inverntory item. an exception is thrown when i save the item.

You would not need to create a separate unit if you just want it to be multiplier of 1. Just create your base bottle unit and leave it at 0. Then create the unit you buy it at as the new unit… example keep your base unit the same as you have configured in screenshot but for New Unit add Unit Name = Case Multiplier =24 Unit=Bottle

This will track it per bottle but it will still let you purchase it by case.

Example:

That example tracks it per unit. Next example tracks it per Transaction Unit.

Screenshot Incoming…

This screenshot tracks it per box… notice I set Multiplier for Ounces in Box so now it will track it per box. I also can purchase it by pallet.

oh ok so base unit will by default become the transactional unit

The way it works is same as it always has been. Additional units really only affect how you purchase it. If you want it to track it per Base unit then leave multiplier at 0 if you want it to track it by Transaction Unit then fill in multiplier… use the Additional units as other ways to purchase it… ie pallet, flat etc. You can set a default unit as well by checking the box on left.

This will probably fix your exception issue as well.

yeah that thread can get confusing. We had some conflicting viewpoints.

Technically this was possible all along before he introduced Additional Units… it just wasnt organized well in Purchases until the extra units. The extra units allowed it to make more sense when purchasing and with reporting.
