When using a sample DB, at first you get the admin PIN reminder like shown below:
Is there any way to get it back again, if I am using my own database (LocalDB or SQL Express) and my admin PIN is set to 1234 ?
I have a few clients, when I install the admin PIN is 1234. I say they can change it, then few months later, I still find it is set to 1234! Not ideal for security. I know I could force them to change it or make it something else myself, however thought it might be quite good to be able to turn that text reminder back on, so they see it every time they login, it prompts them to change it themselves to something better (since all their staff would also see it…).
Saying that in theory we should be able to achive ourselves with an ask question, that would push people to change if they got a pop up every time they logged in hehehe.
Would need with a call script or {REPORT SQL to get the pin number for constraint.
Although saying that there is nothing to stop them setting up any number of other silly pins like 1111 or my favourite 2580.
Ideally just let me know if there is a way I can make the reminder turn back on once it has disappeared? Obviously only if PIN is 1234. But I guess that would work also.
I saw in ProgramSettingValues table there are UserName and Password settings stored, both either empty or NULL values. Anything to do with this?
True. I particularly don’t like them keeping it at 1234 since it is easy to find from forum and default install. Plus I noticed actually it’s used as default by many POS software.
