Auto Increment Order Number



I have an auto increment order number which resets at work period end. Can any one help me with

  1. How to prevent number gets duplicated rarely when tickets are added from different terminals
  2. Is there a possibility to build a screen (like enitity screen) where these auto incremented order numbers get listed and from the main counter the user can click and go to the particular ticket and settle
