in my restaurant I have a lunch menu:
1 starter (to choose from a list of 4)
1 burger (to choose from a list of 8)
1 cake (to choose from a list of 3)
1 drink (to choose from a list of 10)
The menu price is 15€ .
I create a Product named Lunch Menu, priced 15€. Then, I used order tag to define all the products a customer can choose (4 starters, 8 burgers and 3 cakes, 10 drinks). The problem is the order tag doesn’t allow me to manage exception or customer’s preferences for that product. For example: No onion, double cheese, no ice… Ok, I can create more tags but if I have a table with 2 or more menu, in the kitchen can’t know which one wants no onion…
I hope I could explain the problem clearly.
I already search the forum, but I couldn’t find the answer for my need.
Thank you,
Max
I started my new restaurant just one month ago, and I really can’t manage a change in the POS sistem in this moment (as you can image I’m overstressed and really busy…). I will upgrade to V5 as I will be a bit more quite.
Now, I can workaround my issue if it would be possible using zero priced products without get the error when settle the table. Is there any solution for this?
Thanks in advance.
@emre Lets all admit that the best way for him to handle a situation like this is with the sub orders you had started developing a few months back but terminated. I see so many new things you would bring to us with them. Promotions would become easier, item combo choices would become a breeze, complex menus would be handled so much better.
Please reconsider releasing sub orders. I will do whatever I can to help you.
Lets think about this case scenario, If he uses order tags to solve his problem and even upgraded to v5 for sub order tags there would still be so many problems (Same that im facing). He would be very limited on the order tags he can use on those items that hes choosing as order tags. His pop choice would show up in the kitchen when it isnt needed (not a huge deal). He also cant set a max choice of 1 for any of his picks for the combo because say he wants to be able to use free tags for out of the ordinary comments per order tag group.
@emre i was asked same kind of question, but i dint get a proper solution what i had to do i have added another set of order tags , it would be good if we select a product(defined as order tag) it will pop same options it has that will solve the issue , other wise we need all order tags mapped to set menu. The sub menu develop need action thanks
Sorry if I’m missing the point here as others seem to think this isn’t possible in V4, however isn’t this just a case of you add more order tags to the lunch menu, so you have modifiers like No onion, no ice, double cheese, etc.? You say kitchen won’t know which item it is for, but that’s not the case. If you add those and you have person 1 orders a burger with no onion (that’s one lunch item on your ticket), then another person orders a burger with double cheese (that’s a new lunch item on your ticket, i.e. a new order line). Each one will show up with all options as well as the modifier order tags.
@maxplastic a few screenshots might help us understand better. What I meant by v5 having more tools is it supports a new function for Order tags that allows you to set additional modifiers for the order tag itself. For example if you have an order tag called Cheese you can press it and then Types of Cheese would show up, you choose the type and then size shows up.
Hello, sorry for the delay in answer. I solved the issue using zero priced products. In this way I have a product called Menu1 with price 10€ and other products at zero price with all the order tag modifiers I’ve created. Thank you guys!
