Continuing the discussion Tracking 2 Till Cash and Shifts

For security reasons: Is there a way to not show the account balance when creating transaction document? Or a way for employees not to see what amount the balance on Cash Till 1…

I cant understand how that is a security issue… cant they just physically count the till if they wanted?

An employee can count the till but he does not know how much SHOULD be there (opening float + sales - expenses). So I need to HIDE the Till account balance when making this transaction.

I still don’t get it… I mean if he wanted to what would stop him from counting it before transactions? Why is it a security issue to know the balance of drawer? I mean if they can get their hands in it, what does it matter if they know the balance or not?

Anyway there is not a way to hide account balance on that screen. What you could do is create automation to handle the transaction and not use that screen at all. We have Create Account Transaction Document action.

Our store is fast paced, with many transactions, the cash register is shared. Overages are frequent and can range from $200 to 600, that issue aside, there is no need for the manager to even see the drawer balance.

I gave you idea of what you can do above… however you should know that this will not help your overages and shortages at all they are not related.

I work for Walmart the worlds largest retailer and even they are not worried about people knowing how much starts in their tills. Its even public knowledge customers can even find out its of no concern to them.

Right, the overages is something else… Thanks @Jesse for your quick help. I will try with automation!!

Just curious… What is the reason of it?

What he will be worried about I guess is staff seeing an overage and keeping the difference. But the answer is not hiding it but sorting the issue causing the overage.

Frequent power outages, then manager uses the key to drawer to charge customers. I should switch to some tablet or tiny PC.

You are correct, but I still believe some transaction details/account balance are better not shown to some employees.

If they cant be trusted sack them haha
