REDIRECT THERE ANY WAY THAT IF ANY PRINTERS broke and SYSTEM NOT LEAVE THE ORDER IS IN ANY OTHER AND SO we realize THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE PRINTER that belonged ESA ORDER
Do you have multiple terminals? Or just the 1 terminal?
SAMBAPOS does not have this feature.
It’s called Fall Back Printer…
You can create a reprint ticket button but you need to ensure the flow is setup correctly. Or invest in a kitchen screen so no need tor printer.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we could use Scripting to create fallback functionality. Maybe via Powershell ?
Simple networking to be honest. If they have multiple terminals, or even a network switch or hub or router between all the connected devices such as pc, printer, server etc… Than it should be as easy as just attaching another printer to the network switch(Example) and run a printer self test to show what IP address its at(this also ensure its correctly got an IP address) than add on the terminal just Ädd printer" under devices, go to network printer, let it find the network printer and off you go.
in the case that you cannot find the printer, you can add network printer, assign IP address, then once it finishes prompts, test print. If it prints, then you have successfully added printer to network, in which case only thing left would be to add printer on Samba and have a script to check if printer is available, if not it then redirects printer to other printer on network.
There is a way in which this can also be done without having printer on network switch, just attach printer via serial com port, or even USB then, add printer, share it, and ensure you can access it via network.
I’ve almost finished my setup, I’ll post a tutorial as soon as I get around to it.
Thanks to all for the system would sambapos good reroute print order, if the printer that is intended not running , so the user would realize that something happens or the system would not fail to print orders, calls on the system spooler
Any updates on the setup of print job forwarding?
