Help with new printer setup (TSP654IIBTi)

Hello,

I’m new to Samba. Just installed it a few days ago. I’m having trouble connecting to Star Micronics thermal printer (TSP654IIBTi) via bluetooth connections from my windows tablet (v8.1). Does anyone else use this printer?

When editing the Ticket Printer, I’m just not able to see this printer as one of the available options to select. Please HELP! My friend’s restaurant is opening in 2 days and I really need this working before then. Thank you.

Julie

Install printer driver as a regular inkjet or laser printer. If you can see it in Printers screen of windows control panel you’ll be able to see that printer in SambaPOS too.

Also choose printer type as HTML printer if your printer does not emulates ESC/POS commands.

Thanks for the quick response. I called the printer manufacturer and they were able to help me connect.

The receipt is now printing but the total line (at the bottom) is cutoff if printer type is Ticket. The total line will print on the next receipt.

If printer type is HTML the line amount is cutoff on the far right.

As a Ticket Printer (where it cuts off the Total), you will need to adjust something in the Printer Driver as to when the cut is performed.

As an HTML printer (where it overprints to the right), you could try reducing the Character Count in the Printers setting in SambaPOS, and/or decrease the font size in the Template.

It’s just a matter of playing around with it until it works for you, because brands & models behave differently.

I’m not able to find a similar settings as a ticket printer but I was able to reduce the character count as an html printer and it works. Thank you.
