I am very new to sambaPOS. My question is very generic, in my sambaPOS there is only two fields Name and Phone. I would like to add more fields like Date of birth, email etc., How do create new fields in customer table? If possible please send me basic guide to learn about sambaPOS.
These are configured in the entities section, select the entity type and go to the custom fields section.

No official guide book, tutorials on the forum is the main way to learn, there is a wiki but is not complete but can be handy for reference but personally find the best references are tutorials as mentioned for the ‘feature’ posts usually by Emre like the ‘Custom Reports in Detail’ which spent allot of time on at one point. There are also posts often by QMcKay documenting all the new features/changes made as versions are released which are handy to try and keep up with the ever growing program. Very often hard to keep up with new little pieces of gold being added often daily although this would be less noticeable outside beta section as the feature lists generally grow and go ‘live’ on public release.
Another great thing is if you hit a wall when trying to implement something new and there is not a good solution already in place emre often adds little features which solves it. On that bases when doing anything ‘new’/undocumented it is good if you can document your progress etc for others to be inspired from and also so emre can see how people are using and how he can improve.
