Pls can an already installed Sql server like 2005 already installed on your server for sambapos 4 and sql server 2014 interfere to cause issues connecting to the database of sambapos
Am not a pro on the subject but would hazard a guess that so long as the SQL instances are different it might be ok but probably not ideal.
It depends. Did you upgrade SQL from 2005 to 2014 (if not you should have), or did you install 2014 along-side 2005?
Open the Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services and look at what is running. This will tell you which SQL Instances are running …
i installed it along side the 2005 since is been use by another program
If you are certain of that, then you need to determine which Instance contains the SambaPOS Database, and determine the mode of Authentication.
Use SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to log in to each Instance and check to see if the SambaPOS DB is within that Instance…

You can have a 2005 instance and a 2014 instance side by side, it won’t affect each other. Just make sure you connect to the 2014 one for SambaPOS.
