Importing Customer Database

Hi Guys,

I have looked everywhere for a way to import a customer database for a client of mine that is coming to SambaPOS.

I have csv file with Name, Phone Number, Street Number & Street Name, Suburb and Postcode and I would like to import it into SambaPOS. Can Anyone help with instructions on how to do that?

Also I would to find a way to look up a street name (when adding a new customer), suburb & Postcode from addresses that already exist on SambaPOS (once existing customers are imported).

Thanks for your help.

Regards

SambaPOS “Batch Create Entites” supports CSV. First you’ll setup your customer entity type to hold the same fields as your CSV dump.

#Customers,Address,ZIP,Phone

Where Customers is the entity type, and the rest correspond to custom fields for the entity type.

Hi Memo,

Thanks for the tip. I followed instructions that worked but it keeps crashing evey few records here is the error

Any idea why that is? I have 5000 records to import

I’m not familiar with the backend code to really know what that means. And I’m still new to C#.

Are any of the new entities showing under “Entities”?

For 5000 customers, and ETL script may be the way to go.

Or import in batches.
Test by importing say 10 to make sure your formatting is correct.
And check there are no duplicates in primary field.

@compwize I saw your other topic.

There is no issues with the Batch Create Entities feature, I have used it many times myself.

Could you please provide an example of the data you are importing using this method, in the exact format you are pasting it into SambaPOS?
