Licensing questions

Hi,

With regards Licensing, I’m going to purchase a licence for my test set-up, mainly so that I can trial out using MC3 to see if it suits my up and coming requirements.

I currently have a License for my working set-up, which I purchased through (reseller) JTRTech on these forums back in 2021 and he set up the Samba account with the email address I supplied.

Back then I believe licenses had to be purchased from a reseller, is that still the case? and if I get a second license is it best to use a different email so that I have two Samba accounts, or are multiple licenses on one account normal?

Lastly are the MC3, once registered to a licence, transferable to another license once I have finished testing?

You can not transfer licenses. You can buy them directly if you sign up as a customer from our website. You will get a CP account with store.

We have a free demo of mc3 you can use without license. It’s installed by default just login with 1234

What would be the best practice to do when a production backup is installed (restored) on a test computer and transactions are cleared?

Would removing the message server info be enough to not mess things up?

As long as the test one has its own license that’s different than the live one you can load the backup and run license.exe and you will be fine.
