MC3 - Server unavailable

Hi All,

I am trying to connect the MC3 app on my ipad to the server and I am constantly getting ‘Server Unreachable’ message. I have tried this on 2 ipads and an iPhone.

About 2 years ago I did manage to get MC3 to work, had some minor issues, but had to abandon that project due to other commitments.

I have now renewed my license and give it another try but cannot seem to get passed this error.

I have (several times)

  • Cleared licenses and re-ran the License manager
  • Restarted the server
  • Restarted Messenger Service
  • Turned off the firewall
  • Made sure the inbound/outbound rules for port 9000 in the firewall are active
  • Checked all of the steps in the Setup document including making sure messenger service is setup with port 9000+
  • Checked local settings and tested Messenger service which comes up connected
  • Checked PIN/Pwd is correct in the pda User setup
  • Made sure my Samba version is correct for use with MC3 (5.7.12)
  • Made sure the IP addresses on the server and ipad are in the same group (192.168.1.xxx)

The only change since 2 years ago is that we added a second workstation. I have successfully tested that this workstation can connect to the server’s messenger service.

Any ideas how to solve this, other than doing all of the above again

Regards

Tony

Mee too and I trying uninstall all windows updates 2026

The October 2025 Windows 11 cumulative update (KB5066835) introduced a regression in the kernel driver, silently breaking loopback HTTP/2 connections.

Check your installed updates via Windows Update > Update History and look for KB5066835 or the September preview KB5065789.

Hello @tstallan ,

You can continue using the MC3 after reactivating your SambaPOS V5 Pro License.

Thanks. That fixed the problem.

I do now have a new one but I will create a new topic
