Mobile client V2 connection problem

I have been using Sambapos v5.5.8 and mobile clients v2.0.54 for more than 5 years. Everything has been working beautifully so far. Out of nowhere 2 days ago we started getting errors on mobile clients. First “no valid license” which i solved by clearing keys, running license.exe, restarting message server service.
Now the clients get the green connection and see the server but at login get the “Your data is not up to date. Please update”. When click OK get the message server connection error.

Ive checked all the settings and all seem to be correct and I haven’t changed anything on the server for a long time.

Also, when I go to settings on client app, all options are unavailable except for language, and just a blank popup appears.

Thanks in advance!

Hello @Jimk,

With the SambaPOS version 5.5.0 we started using the Mobile Client MC3 App therefore we recommend you to upgrade the Mobile Client version, you can set it up by checking the below source;

MC3 Setup Document

Since it has been working fine so far and I’ve already paid for the lifetime license of V2, I prefer to resolve the issue with the existing version if possible. Also, the current MSQL is 2014 and probably have to upgrade that too to work with MC3.
Do I lose any data upgrading to 2019 MSQL?

Thank you!

Hello @Jimk,

You can continue using your existing Mobile Client license with the MC3 version without any issues.

As for the SQL Server version upgrade, you won’t lose any data during the process.

However, you can consider taking a full database backup beforehand, just to be safe.

Thank you, Nizam! That’s good to know.
I just checked although there is a SQL server installed on the laptop, the DB is local. Would the MC3 work with local DB? Or I have to install SQL server 2019?
Thank you so much! :folded_hands:

Also, we have only one laptop/terminal and 2 mobile clients.

Hello @Jimk,

If the computer has Windows 7 Operating System then you won’t be able to install a higher version than SQL 2014.
In case they have Windows 10 or above then we recommend you to install the SQL Express Server 2022.

SQL Express Server 2022 Setup Document

As long as you have the database backup of your Local DB version, you can restore it once you install the SQL Express Server 2022.

Hello Nizam
I installed SQL 2019, moved the DB over. Followed the instructions carefully and I get basically the same error I started with.
When I open the MC3 I get a connection error popup which goes away quickly but let’s me login to settings (pw: 2520634) but get a connection error again after I click Save.

Please let me know of you want any screenshots. :folded_hands:

Mr Nizam,
I also upgraded the Sambapos to the latest version (5.7.22) and still have the same error.

Hello @Jimk,
