Numbers are reserved for quantity selection and barcodes. I am fairly certain it wont search for menu items by number.
SambaPOS does support barcodes however. You can set them up under products when you enter products. When typing barcode and pressing enter it will add item to order. You dont even need a menu for barcodes to work. Barcode scanners will work as well.
