Interesting…I want go back to linux eventually…
I believe wine only supports .NET 4.0, so only V3 will run.
I read this:

since Linux seems to be a lot more stable, need a lot less processor and is a lot safer…
The only question is what about SQL server express and wine…

Looks like mono may give the support needed for .NET 4.5 and SQL Express.
While people have got it installed, there is very little documented about the stability of it.
