I have the refund button setup and it works fine it im doing a replace transaction swapping one item for another so long as the new item has a higher value than the refund item so the ticket has some more money they customer has to pay.
If the transaction total is a minus (money to give back to customer) the ticket doesnt display the balance remaining in the ticket in red at the bottom like it does when there is an amount left to pay, ideally i want this blance to show and be a negative figure.
if there is just one item on the ticket and it is a refund also the “balance” does not show in red at the bottom as a minus and my fast cash button will not settle the ticket as cash and close the ticket. The only way to do it is to click the settle button to go to the payment screen, then select “All” and then press “Cash” on the payment screen.
Is there anyway I can get my fast cash button to work to settle a ticket that has a minus value (refund) instead of having to use settle and go through the payment screen as my fast cash button will make the process quicker?
Main screen with exact cash button, when pushing this nothing happens to settle the ticket
Settle screen, i can either press “All” or “Ticket” to add the minus (in this case-2.00) to the Charged line at the top, this activates the Cash, Card, Voucher buttons so I can process the refund and this seems to work fine in accounts and figures are correct
yes, so a customer buys somethings and transaction is completed and they leave. They return later, maybe even a different day for a refund so i just want to be able to refund items. This works fine if i press settle and go to the payment screen, but ideally as the refund amount is always a fixed amount e.g £7.99 i just want to press my exact cash or exact card button to “settle” the refund and close that ticket and and give out the cash or process back onto card
You do not need a Refund button void does the same thing. Click item press void then settle ticket again. I am going to assume it will not work because its not setup to work with a negative balance. Emre can probably elaborate more on it.
do i need to reopen the ticket to do that though? as just adding an item to a new ticket and clicking void just greys out the item and puts a line through it so the transaction has a value of zero, when it should be a minus which is what the refund button does?
ideally i dont want to reopen a ticket and void, just create a new ticket and use refund button, like i say it work fine if i use the payment screen i just want to bypass that extra few button presses with payment screen and just use one click of my fast cash button if its possible?
You have to reopen a ticket to void any item thats already paid. The reason it greys the item out and doesnt put a negative is because nothing was paid yet and that is how it should behave. Why would you want it to put a negative balance if nothing was paid yet?
You are over complicating the process… you should just reopen a closed ticket and press void to do your refunds.
You will risk messing up inventory by creating a new ticket and using a refund button… if you decide to go this route (not sure why) then make sure you have it set to add inventory back in.
Ok I understand now. I was not reading it correctly. You are not just refunding the item you may be swapping the item out. So in that case the Refund button would be the solution.
As far as your fast cash button I will have to rethink it. I retract my comment above very sorry I was not understanding what you were trying to do.
