You are asking the wrong people. We are not MSSQL support. You should probably look on Microsoft’s support pages for MSSQL Server
A quick glance at their website it looks like you will need to purchase SQL Server 2017 for Linux. I am not sure if it will work though. You will still needs windows to run the software though so I do not see the point.

yes I did but they ask to install sql in a virtual machine and i want to run directly in linux

Yes i did. I did it before to ask in the forum.
You must realize that it is a microsoft product so how it runs in Linux is completely up to MS. SambaPOS will only work with MS SQL
