Without a screenshot, it is very difficult to troubleshoot just by your description, because your perspective can be deceiving, and you might overlook things that otherwise is obvious to someone else.
but with what we have now, I can suggest a few things for you to try.

Check the version you have, the latest version should be 1.0.28

Chek the setting you have, it should be something similar to what I have below:

Try a clean install of SambaIN, include delete anything in
C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Sambapos
There should be at least one cofig file for user settings
Then you shouldn’t be crashing out just by opening SambaIN and put the correct settings in.
