SambaPOS 4 to SambaPOS 5 Upgrade – Bar Printer Only Prints Void/Cancellation Tickets

Hi everyone,

We recently upgraded our system from SambaPOS 4 to SambaPOS 5, and I’m having a problem with our bar ticket printer.

The printer itself is working and communicating with SambaPOS. I can print a test page, and when an item is voided/cancelled, the void ticket prints correctly at the bar.

However, when we add normal products to an order and submit/close the ticket, the products are not printed at the bar at all.

So currently:

Test page prints correctly.
Void/cancellation tickets print correctly.
Normal product/order tickets do not print.
The problem started after upgrading from SambaPOS 4 to SambaPOS 5.
We only need the bar printer; there is no kitchen printer involved.
The printer connection appears to be OK because void tickets are reaching the same printer.

I have checked the printer and basic Print Job settings, but I suspect there may be an issue with the Automation Rules, Execute Print Job action, order states, or Print Job mappings that occurred during the V4 → V5 upgrade.

Has anyone experienced this when upgrading from SambaPOS 4 to V5?

Which settings should I specifically check to make sure newly added bar products print when the order is submitted, while keeping the void printing working?

Any guidance on the correct Rule / Action / Print Job / Order State configuration in SambaPOS 5 would be greatly appreciated.

Go to maintenance and use rebuild default rules

Hi, I solved my bar printing problem, but now I have another issue.

The order prints correctly when I close the ticket. However, every time I reopen the same ticket and close it again, SambaPOS sends the same products to the bar printer again, even though no new products were added.
