Hi first of all thank you to all doing this great POS, we are testing it right now for our resort here in Thailand…
Most of the issues we encountered I was able to find a resoluton here on the forums, however 2 issues remain where I am stumped and could not find anything which would solve these issues…
First is that on a brand new and CLEAN Windows 11 machine the Samba POS program stops on starting. I attach the info from the Event View with this post…
I first thought maybe the .NET version is not the latest possible, but as its a clean Windows 11 install this should not be the case, but just to ne on the safe side, I completely reinstalled Windows 11 from scratch and checked as well in the registry if its the latest Version of .NET, which it is 4.8.1 … registry screenshot attached as well…
I saw a few posts with a similar issue, but all these had old versions of .NET which is not the case here.
I even tried to reinstall .NET 4.8.1 but it said already installed a newer version…
I am running out of ideas, if anybody has a better idea then what I did already, I would appreciate it… Funny enough 2 more similar computers with Windows 11 work fine and don’t throw this exception
Ok, I removed the Samba installation, made sure nothing was left on the computer anywhere and then reinstalled it and started the program, unfortunately still the same issue…
I tried to post the log, but there is no log created at all…
I attach the screenshots of the directoy and what is on there and as well all the info I can grab from Event Viewer…
Jesse, to be on the save side, that is exactly what I did today before I reinstalled it. I downloaded version 5.7.12 and installed it, and that is the problems that come with it.
Is there somewhere a newer version, which I did not see?
I tried all of these already when you sent me the email, unfortunately none of them fixes the issue, even including the software which promises to fix it, did not …
Can you record a video of the crash moment of SambaPOS and send it to support@sambapos.com email address please? Also in case you provide Anydesk Id from both main and terminal computer (the one which doesn’t connect to main computer) we can try to check your other issue as well.
Sure, would be happy to, but the video would not show anything as it all does is show a short click on the icon and nothing happens on the screen… I will send you the Anydesk ID’s for both computers by email.
Ok, Nizam was fantastic enough to spend a bunch of time with me on anydesk…
We basically moved the SQL to the latest version of SQL Server and at the same time moved the SQL database from the win10 machine to the win11 machine (as they are right next to each other no issue)…
Reinstalled everything and reset all the settings for the terminals for the new set-up …
For the time being th Windows Firewall is disabled to get everything for sure working, I will in the next few days however changed this once I added the exceptions properly and report back if everything still works as now …
Anyway, right now everything is working as it is supposed to, thanks a million Nizam for the help,
