SambaPOS crashing on windows 8.1 [SOLVED]

Hi,

I am trying to install SambaPOS on a netbook with Windows 8.1 operating system (64 bit). The software installs without error. However, as soon as I click on the POS icon to start the software, it crashes with a pop-up stating “SambaPOS has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem”. I am installing the software with default settings. SQL server is already installed on this netbook with instance name “sambapos3”. I have used the software earlier on Windows 7 professional and it worked fine.

I have tried the following versions of POS - 4.1.38, 4.1.40 and 4.1.32. Result is same in all cases.

I used to have it installed in a win 8.1 ultrabook, and worked fine… is there any diff in the OS from ultra to netbook?

Hi,

Windows updates KB2962409 and KB2967917 fixed the issue. So, it was some windows problem. Thanks.
