SambaPOS v5 crashing

Hi,

We have been using SambaPOS for many years, sometimes it crash, but now is very often. Here is the log. Thinking that is was a memory problem I upgraded the computer to 64Gb of memory.

Any clue?

If I’m reading that correctly, you have 56MB of RAM available. If that’s the case, close everything. Better yet, restart the computer.

We do that every time, before we had 12Gb of memory and I upgraded to 64Gb, but the issue still remains.

It should be something else. Do you believe that reinstalling C++ runtime will help? What are the versions we should be having installed?

It’s not - the inner exception clearly states there’s not enough available RAM to load the library.

You’ve got 64GB and you’re running out of memory? You need to investigate what is eating that.

Do you use a Anti-Virus app ?
Sometimes that antiviruses delete our chromium engine file : CefSharp.Core.Runtime.dll
This file is required for web browsing

No, just the windows default Microsoft Defender.

This is why I’m asking you guys for help, there is plenty of unallocated memory at the moment SambaPOS crash, before, when we had 12Gb, memory was almost all allocated, now, we have plenty of memory.

SambaPOS is a 32-bit application and will crash with an OutOfMemoryException once it reaches 4GB of RAM usage - it physically cannot access more than that. So, there’s no way it’s eating 8, 12, 32GB of RAM.

You’ll need to look at memory usage in Task Manager and see what’s using the most.

You can find and put that DLL to SambaPOS folder. But sometimes Windows Defender thinks that this is a virus :slight_smile:
So you can install SambaPOS to same folder.
