Dear forum, would like to know eho has implemented scales and which are the brands, so I can start looking here. Are they serial? USB?

Install the Scale Module. It will show some of the scales supported. Then google the types and see what is available near you. Serial connection would be the best.

and this brings me another question… The notebooks I use DO NOT have serial ports…

Get a serial to usb cable. Or if the scales come with USB make sure their drivers sets them as a serial port device.
