Yes you can use tasks to record a log.

Look here for idea on how to use the tasks to record logs. It wont be exactly what you want but you should be able to capture the data with the device event and record it in a task log.
I was thinking about Ticket Logs the other day and thought I should add some Logging at my Venues. Naturally, being me, my mind went straight to using Tasks for the logging. Why?
